SeaSketch puts powerful tools into the hands of ocean planners, stakeholders, and the public. SeaSketch supports geospatial data visualization, data collection, geodesign, and interactive map-based discussions, and has been used to support planning initiatives around the world. Core functions include visualizing and querying spatial data layers, collecting stakeholder knowledge through map-based surveys, sketching and evaluating prospective zoning and management scenarios, running real-time analytical reports on how sketched zones interact with habitats and human uses, and facilitating discussion through map-based forums.
