3Rs: Wildlife Research Method Finder

The 3Rs Wildlife Research Method Finder is an interactive, filterable decision-support tool that guides wildlife researchers and conservation practitioners toward suitable non-invasive or minimally invasive methods for their specific study context. Users filter across five dimensions (study type, animal type, animal welfare impact level, cost, and time effort) and the tool returns a curated set of method cards, each linking to a dedicated page with a method description. Methods available in the finder include eDNA from water (multiple study types), bioacoustics, drones, camera traps, blowhole exhale sampling for marine mammals, direct observation, photographic identification, and many others, covering taxonomic groups including cnidarians, echinoderms, molluscs, fish, and marine mammals.
